Rev.V. John Selvaraj has been faithfully serving in CSI Madras Diocese for over four decades, dedicating his life to spiritual leadership, community outreach, and ecclesiastical guidance. Born with a calling to serve, he entered the ministry in 1981 after completing his theological education at the prestigious Andhra Christian Theological College, Secunderabad (Senate of Serampore). There, he earned his Bachelor of Divinity (BD), equipping himself with the theological knowledge and spiritual foundation essential for pastoral ministry.

In 1985, Rev. John Selvaraj was ordained as a Deacon, and a year later, he was ordained as a Presbyter. His commitment to both rural and urban congregations is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the church. With 40 years of ministerial service as of 2024, he has spent 20 years serving rural communities, bringing hope, faith, and pastoral care to those in need, and another 20 years ministering in Chennai, where he has played a vital role in spiritual growth and community development.

Throughout his ministry, Rev. John Selvaraj has held several notable positions, including serving as Area Chairman for the Madras North Area. His leadership extended as a Director on the Board of Music and Liturgy in the CSI Diocese of Madras, contributing significantly to the enrichment of worship and church music. He is currently the Vice President of the Peraya Tamizhisai Thurai (பேராயத் தமிழிசை துறை), further showcasing his commitment to music and liturgical excellence.

Rev. Dr. V. John Selvaraj currently serves as the Presbyter-in-Charge and Chairman at CSI Emmanuel Church, Anna Nagar, Thangam Colony, Chennai-40. Known for his humility, compassion, and grace, Rev. John Selvaraj has dedicated his life to ministry and the spiritual growth of his congregation.

His academic accomplishments include an MA in Political Science from SV University, an MA in Christian Studies from Madras University, an M.Phil, a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min), and a Diploma in Carnatic Music (D.Mus). His profound interest in music complements his spiritual and academic pursuits, reflecting his dedication to both learning and artistic expression.
